Quilt Racks

I'm attaching a few photos from our 2007 show that will give members a reminder of what our quilt racks look like and why we'll need quilt sleeves attached.

Quilt Sleeve

Nearly all quilt shows require a 4" hanging sleeve for quilts exhibited. This 4" size accommodates most hanging rods or slats used at shows.
Here's a link to directions in a PDF format. Sleeves can be basted on for easy removal. No one is going to see them. Having a sleeve will facilitate hanging and........ really help us out!!

Northern Interiors

Northern Interiors will be setting up a bedroom display at our Quilt Show. This locally owned furniture and design store is located at 46 Market Street in Potsdam. Their Web Site tells it all. Please check the site out and stop in to meet their staff.

WOW! I'm Excited!

A few photos from the 2007 Show....

I've been logging and assigning numbers to the show entries. The show is going to be interesting and colorful with a wide variety of quilts, wall hangings, challenge quilts, table runners, purses and a few clothing items. Wonderful!.

Chloe Ann brought up the need for signage. We want to make sure we have good directions for the various activities taking place and especially to where the vendors are located. We LOVE vendors!
We have two more vendors. I'll give information on them tomorrow.

I spoke with Patti Francis last night. She will be handling the "bed turning" feature. We've decided to schedule this at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.

Day Trip to Clayton - Pat Knoechel

My sister, Mary, friend Debbie and I drove to Clayton, NY today to attend a lecture by Pat Knoechel, a renowned author, teacher and expert quilter and the sister of Eleanor Burns of the Quilt in a Day books. Pat spoke about different techniques and designs of quilting and displayed a vast array of quilts. One of her topics featured the techniques involved in making the blocks featured in Eleanor's new Day & Night Quilt in a Day book. How impressive! We were able to have our books and patterns signed by Pat. Pat travels extensively and is a wonderful speaker. If you have the chance to see her, don't pass it up.

One Month Away!

Our show opens one month from today!

Thanks to all who have signed up to volunteer for the various show duties. Chloe Ann and I touched base today and will be doing so every day from now on. We want to make sure all the bases are covered.

I spoke with a couple members who are putting the finishing touches on their entries. One member is dropping a king-sized quilt off tomorrow for quilting. She spoke of the binding job to come - it's a good thing she loves hand work.

$1000.00 - for Office For The Aging

Our raffle to benefit the SLC Office For The Aging raised $1000.
Great News!

Twenty-two (22) Challenge Quilts were shown at our guild meeting. Each told a story...... our members used their skills to create "Pieces of Their Hearts". All those present enjoyed hearing the inspiration behind the entries. We're hoping more Challenge Quilts will be finished by show time.
